Electrical Design

Functional Safety
The sole purpose of functional safety is to protect users from harm. Noveum are expert in the design and implementation of Functional Safety Systems in accordance with BS EN 61508. Our engineers are TUV certified in Functional Safety.

Contract management
Contract management is a process that ensures suppliers adhere to their agreed contractual obligations along with negotiating any future changes that need to take place. Noveum has many years of experience of managing contracts.
Feasibility studies
A Feasibility Study is an important service that Noveum offers for the independent analysis of a solution to meet a client’s requirements. It is the process of validating the technology assumptions, architecture and design of a project. In most cases alternative solutions are considered and the feasibility of each is analysed. A recommendation of adoption of a particular solution is made to the client.
Optioneering
Optioneering is the assessment of alternative design options, analysing their long-term capital and operational costs to identify those with the lowest price tag – over the entire lifecycle. A key benefit of this technique is that it pinpoints the relative costs of design alternatives and solutions. In addition, it considers programme implications, operational impact, logistics etc. This in turn helps decision makers clearly see the advantages of choosing solutions and the options available – while providing sound financial evidence for supporting them.
Requirements capture
Requirements Capture or gathering is an essential part of any project and project management. Understanding what a project will deliver is critical to its success. Requirements gathering sounds like common sense, but surprisingly, it’s an area that is given far too little attention.
The objective of Requirements Capture is to ensure that you have a full understanding of the client’s needs and wants. These are documented in a Requirements Specification and is the start of the system development lifecycle. The customer and all other stakeholder’s sign-up to it and understand that this is what is being delivered.

Systems integration
Systems Integration is the development of a system to meet User Requirements, normally made up of a number of interconnected sub systems. Noveum develops these systems using a defined lifecycle methodology that guarantees the successful delivery of a system to meet the client requirements.
Independent system testing
Noveum has hardware and software engineers that have in depth knowledge of developing systems. These engineers can be used by our clients to independently validate a system implementation undertaken by others.
EMC management
All Systems Engineering companies have a responsibility for ensuring their delivered systems are compliant with current EMC legislation. Noveum provide a service based upon the creation of Technical Construction files, Component traceability through to a full EMC testing service at independent test houses.
Lifetime support
Noveum offers a comprehensive lifetime support service. This service ranges from individual service visits to full 24×7 lifetime support against Service Level Agreements.
